RAUPEX UV Shield pipe is manufactured using REHAU’s high-pressure peroxide method for cross-linked polyethylene (Engel method, PEXa). RAUPEX UV Shield pipe has a co-extruded PE shield that protects the pipe against ultraviolet light (sunlight) for an extended time. All RAUPEX UV Shield pipe meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM F 876, F 877, CSA B 137.5 and PPI TR-3, and is certified to NSF Standards 14/61. RAUPEX UV Shield pipe meets the requirements of NSF P 171 and ASTM F 2023 for chlorine resistance. RAUPEX UV Shield pipe is produced in REHAU’s ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities. RAUPEX UV Shield pipe is rated for continuous operation of 160 psi at 73.4 deg F (1105 kPa at 23 deg C), 100 psi at 180 deg F (690 kPa at 82.2 deg C) and 80 psi at 200 deg F (550 kPa at 93.3 deg C). It is compatible with brass crimp ring fittings certified to ASTM F 1807, RAUPEX compression nut fittings, and EVERLOC compression-sleeve fittings certified to ASTM F 2080 and CSA B 137.5.
